How to sue a car dealer in the Ontario small claims court

If you have purchased a vehicle in Ontario and now you are having problems you do have options. If you have been unsuccessful negotiating with the car dealer, you can file a complaint with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council. This entity licenses and regulates automotive dealers in Ontario. If the dealer is a UCDA Member you can also initiate a complaint with the UCDA. If you have incurred out of pocket expenses resolving the problem you could file a claim against the dealer in the Ontario Small Claims Court. You can create your Ontario Small Claims Court Plaintiff’s Claim forms online using EasyCourt and file your claim at the Small Claims Court in person or by mailing the completed forms with payment to the Small Claims Court.
